Course Purpose
This qualification is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to teach swimming, supporting participants from the age of three upwards to learn essential swimming skills and develop competence across all four strokes. It equips learners to plan, deliver, and evaluate inclusive, safe, and progressive swimming lessons suitable for participants of various abilities.
Once qualified you will be able to effectively plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate swimming lessons independently. It also gives you the skills and confidence to provide quality, inclusive and fun swimming lessons.
What you'll cover

Assessment
Continuous assessment through evidence-based online submission covering theoretical knowledge (assignments, competency questions, lesson planning, self-evaluations, video submissions and practical assessment.
Delivery
A combination of qualification delivery methods:
- Online E-learning modules through TLE Learn Lab e-learning platform
- Face-to-face Theoretical sessions delivered in a classroom or virtually delivered through TLE Learn Lab e-learning platform
- Practical On deck sessions in the swimming pool, where learners practice teaching skills and implement safety procedures

Progression & Next Steps
Completion of the TLEQ Swimming Teacher qualification can unlock progression into practical teaching roles such as Swimming Teacher or Swimming Co-Ordinator.
